Boise Fun!

Last week my sister Sandy and I took the kids to Boise to meet up with my Aunt Gaylene and have some summer fun. My brother Jeff lives in Boise and was so kind to let us crash his house. We all stayed with him the first night then the me and my kids went and stayed with my sister-in-law Jody and her daughter Maya. We enjoyed a hot day at the Roaring Springs Water Park, a afternoon at the Boise Zoo, went to the movie UP, and of course squeezed in some shopping. This was a great week and we were so grateful to spend time with the family and finally enjoy some warm weather without rain.

Roaring Springs Water Park was a big hit. The girls had a great time time going on the big water slides with Gaylene and Sandy while I played with the little kids in the kiddie pool. They even talked Ryan and Luke into going on a "Big Space Slide." Both of the boys agreed that is was a little dark and scary. The kids pool was alot of fun. It had a bunch of diffeternt things to do including some little slides. The favorte overall was the the Lazy River and Dippin Dots Ice Cream.

On the day we went to the Zoo the weather was just right. The Boise Zoo has a great selection of animals and lots of shade. The kids really enjoyed themselves. We even got Uncle Jeff and Maya to come with us.

I had to take this picture of my kids sleeping one morning in Maya's bed. They are so sweet.

I am really greatful for all of the fun memories I am able to build with my kids. We were so grateful to spend time with with family. My favorite part of the trip was when Ryan said to Luke "You are not my friend, you are my best friend!" I also loved watching my girls play with Grace. They adore her so much. We are looking forward to alot more swimming this summer.

Programs, Recital and Awards

I have really been behind on blogging which would not be a big deal if this was not also our family journal so I am trying to post some events I missed blogging about this spring.

Katelyn and Allison had their spring concerts for school. They both did great. Allie was really looking forward to her concert. Kate loves to sing but was not very thrilled with some of the songs she had to sing.

Allie had her dance recital this week and did a great job. She is always so happy on stage. After her performance we went out to dinner with Grandma, Grandpa and Sandy's family. We appreciate all the family support we have.

In late April we got a letter from the school stating that Katelyn had won 3rd place in a essay contest sponsored by the Lions Club so I got to go to an assembly in her honor. I am very proud on my girls.

On the last day of school Katelyn was given a special award for her reading performance in AR. After a special assemble Kate and 10 other 3rd graders got to go on a limo ride with the Principal. They cruised around town and went out for ice cream. She worked very hard to earn this and had a great time!

The girls had a great last day of school. The both had super great teachers this year and look forward to next year. As for Ryan and I, we are glad to be done with PTA and volunteering at the school for a while. We are all looking forward to a relaxing summer.

Easter

This year we celebrated Easter with Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Ivan a day early because they were flying off to the Cayman Islands on Easter. We had our annual Easter egg hunt in their backyard which is always the highlight of the day.

I was in charge of cooking the Easter Ham this year which was a big stress but it turned out wonderful. I was very please. I was most pleased with the great weather! It was such a beautiful weekend. On Easter Sunday we got up to see what the Easter Bunny brought, went to Church and spent the rest of the afternoon with just our little family playing games. We are not used to quiet Sundays because we are usually with my whole family but we did enjoy ourselves.

When I was trying to take pictures of the kids before church Ryan kept trying to show me his "ninja moves." He is such a ham. As always I bought the girls new Easter dresses, but this year I did not buy matching dresses which apparently was not following family tradition so they decided to wear their matching outfits from last spring so they could match since it was a holiday. I never know what those two are thinking, they are always one step ahead of me that is for sure.

It's a Girl!

The Elizondo family is expecting a new baby girl on September 13, 2009. We are so excited and are looking forward to buying more pink.

On the day of the ultrasound the girls stayed home from school.

We had our appointment in the morning, then went shopping, out for lunch, and after we sent dad back to work we headed out for more shopping.

Ryan was so cute during the ultrasound, he was a little worried so he kept rubbing my arm and was listening to everything the Tech said. The girls would giggle every time the baby moved. We all thought that it was most likely a girl since I was sick like I was with Katelyn and Allison but it is good to have that confirmation. We had a great day and look forward to our precious little baby girl's arrival.
